About this page

Hello everyone and thank you for visiting my site! If you are a foodie, a scientist, or even just a curious individual you have made it to the right place. My goal is to educate the public on the science of food in a fun and interactive way. I will focus on basic scientific concepts, current events, recipes, and even nutrition. You will find references for all my sources so you can do further reading on your own.  I hope this blog will inspire you to research more about your food and where it comes from, how its made, or even just to get into the kitchen and do some experimenting on your own!

Now for a little bit about me….

I am a recent graduate of the Master in Food Science program at Kansas State University.  Prior to graduate school, I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Food Science and Nutrition from Purdue University and am a proud Boilermaker! I have a passion for all things food and love to experiment in the kitchen for a hands-on approach to science. I enjoy teaching and hope to spark an interest in food in others. I have worked in the Food Industry for several years and have experience in areas of quality assurance, food product development and technology, and sensory science. Did you know there were so many dedicated people involved in providing delicious, nutritious food to you and your family? Many people may take for granted the food on their dinner table, but my hope is to educate people on all the hard work food scientists do to ensure a safe and tasty food supply each and every day!

Please feel free to reach out with any questions you may have, I am happy to address any topic and will do my best to explain in a way that is fun and easy to understand.
